Privacy Policy
FitPrep helps you plan high-protein meals, prep them for the week, track water, habits and workouts, and keep a streak going. This policy explains what information the app and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it. We don't sell your data and the app shows no ads.
1. Information we collect
When you sign in
You can use FitPrep without an account; your data then stays on your phone. To back up and sync, you sign in with Google (we receive your name, email address, profile photo and a Google account ID, never your password) or as a guest, which creates an anonymous ID with no name or email.
What you add in the app
- Your meal plan, meal times and the meals, snacks, habits and prep tasks you tick off each day
- Water intake, calorie and protein targets, and goal details you enter (for example age, height, weight and activity level, used to suggest targets)
- Body-weight entries and workouts you log (exercises, sets, weights and reps)
- Groceries you mark as bought, so the grocery list knows what's already in your kitchen
- App settings such as reminders and theme
Meal photos and AI features
When you scan a meal, the photo is sent to our server and to Google Gemini to estimate calories and protein. The photo is not stored; if you save the result we keep only the estimate: dish name, calories, protein and any ingredients you tick as used from your kitchen. When you use the AI plan builder or ask for a recipe, your answers or the dish name are sent to Google Gemini in the same way. We keep a daily count of these requests to apply usage limits.
Collected automatically
- Device ID, a random ID created by the app, so your account can be used on up to two phones
- Notification token, so we can send you notifications such as announcements
- App version, so we can tell you when an update is needed
Meal, water and streak reminders are scheduled on your phone; they don't need our server. FitPrep has no advertising or analytics SDKs.
When you contact us
If you use our support form, we receive your email, your message and your name if you give it.
What we don't collect
No payment card or bank details, no contacts, no location and no files. The camera and photo library are used only when you choose to scan a meal.
2. How we use your information
- To run the app: keep your plan, progress and workouts in sync across your phones
- To estimate calories from meal photos and build AI plans and recipes when you ask
- To show your membership and apply plan limits
- To send notifications you'd expect
- To reply when you contact us, and to keep the service safe and prevent abuse
FitPrep gives general nutrition and fitness guidance. It is not medical advice.
3. Who can see your information
Your data is private to your account. There are no public profiles and no sharing with other users, except what you choose to share yourself (for example a grocery list sent to WhatsApp).
We use these service providers to run FitPrep:
- Google Firebase: sign-in, database and notifications
- Google Gemini: meal photo estimates, AI plans and recipes, as described above
- Vercel: hosting for this website and our server
We share information only with these providers, to run the service, or when the law requires it. We don't sell personal data or share it for advertising.
4. How long we keep it
- Account and app data: for as long as your account exists
- Meal photos: not stored at all
- Daily usage counts: kept with your account data and deleted with it
- Support messages: until the issue is resolved, then deleted on request
5. Your choices & deleting your data
- Edit your plan, untick days and delete weight entries at any time in the app
- Turn reminders off in Settings, or notifications off in your phone's settings
- Sign out at any time
- Delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account & data), or request deletion without the app. See how to delete your account and data.
6. Security
All data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). The app reaches the database only through our server, which checks your sign-in on every request, so you can only read and change your own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and fix problems quickly.
7. Children
FitPrep is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
When we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app. Earlier versions are available on request.
